BIO
Justin Maki doesn't just perform songs — he throws a party. Blending the warmth of Soul, the pocket of Funk, and the polish of Jazz into hook-driven Pop, his sound sits somewhere between Allen Stone's grit, John Mayer's guitar-slinging finesse, and the chart-ready charisma of Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake. It's music built to move a room, and after 20+ years on stage, Justin has the crowds to prove it.

Born in Japan and raised in Canada, Justin has played over 2,000 shows across Canada — coast to coast, from Halifax to Prince George — as well as the US, Mexico, and the Netherlands, entertaining hundreds of thousands of people along the way. He's shared stages with The Sheepdogs, Measha Brueggergosman, Neon Dreams, Olivia Lunny, and Matt Rife, and brought his show to everything from concert halls and festivals to weddings and backyard parties.
His work in the studio carries the same pedigree as his work on stage. Justin has collaborated with producer Matthew Johnston (Shad, Chad Price), Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, U2, Neil Young), and VAŪLTS — David Mohacsi and Maïa Davies (Three Days Grace, Tragically Hip, Stereos). Those partnerships have helped earn him multiple FCLMA "Pop Artist of the Year" titles (2021, 2026), "Contemporary Singer-Songwriter of the Year" (2022), a 2nd-place finish in the national Aeolian Hall Songwriting Competition (2024), and wins at Western University's Battle of the Bands (2015) and Western Voice (2016).

Justin's latest release is his sophomore full-length, Technicolor Dreams, following his debut album New Flame (2022) and two collaborations with Ontario rappers Big Lou and Dallas Waldo — "Time Witchu" and "Find Your Flow." A handful of early-career EPs round out the catalog.
Justin is currently touring and taking bookings for 2026–2027. Follow the journey @justinmakimusic, and catch him on all major streaming platforms.

"...Justin Maki is more than a musician—he’s a creative force blending R&B, soul, funk, and jazz into a pop sound as smooth as it is infectious. Imagine Allen Stone’s warmth, John Mayer’s finesse, and the chart-ready hooks of Bruno Mars, and you’ll get a sense of Maki’s musical DNA".
"[Justin's music is] lighthearted, playful, and punctuated by groove-inducing bass, lush guitars, saturated synths, and decidedly danceable beats."
